Closed Logging Road &#8211; Access to 11060\n\t\t\t\t<\/dd><\/dl><br style=\"clear: both\" \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The Hike and Climb:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 GPS is recommended for navigation<br \/>\n\u2022 Walk south along the closed logging road \u2013 it\u2019s almost level at first<br \/>\n\u2022 The road first passes a large, dark pile of logging waste \u2013 see Google satellite image<br \/>\n\u2022 Follow the road about \u00bd mile, until it approaches the north side of 11060 and curves to the east-northeast<br \/>\n\u2022 Leave the road and hike southeast up through open sub-alpine forest<br \/>\n\u2022 The route\u2019s a bit steeper toward the top<br \/>\n\u2022 Stay on the northwest ridge, and avoid any cliffs<br \/>\n\u2022 Hike over some rock outcrops near the top, and continue a short distance along the forested ridge to the summit<br \/>\n\u2022 The peak is near a prominent rock outcrop overlooking the South Fork of Lost Creek<\/p>\n<p>Additional Details:<\/p>\n<p>Very few people visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitpost.org\/northwest-slope-route\/555255\">11060.<\/a> Even though the peak is over 11,000 feet high, distant views are limited by higher peaks in most directions. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitpost.org\/bison-peak\/151572\">Bison Peak <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sota.org.uk\/Summit\/W0C\/SP-068\">Peak 11423<\/a> are visible a few miles to the south;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitpost.org\/topaz-mountain\/685749\"> Topaz <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitpost.org\/north-tarryall-peak\/453700\">North Tarryall Peak<\/a> stand out to the west. Miles from development, the noise level is very low. The summit\u2019s quite prominent and falls away quickly in most directions. The peak\u2019s surrounded by slightly higher mountains, but they\u2019re too far away to affect HF skip signals much.
